KENTUCKY LAKE

Kentucky Lake, the largest man-made lake east of the Mississippi River, stretches across western Kentucky and northern Tennessee. Created by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in 1944 with the construction of Kentucky Dam, it covers 160,000 acres over 2,000 miles of shoreline. The lake plays a vital role in flood control, hydroelectric power generation, and regional tourism.
